2020 Summer Camp COVID-19 Update and RTP Guidelines

COVID-19 Update as of 5/21

Dear Soccer Ole’ Summer Camp Families,

We are making ongoing adjustments to our Soccer Ole’ Summer Camps due to the pandemic. Our staff is continually reviewing data and recommendations from other schools, as well as publications from professional associations and government offices.

Lausanne has decided to close the school for the entire month of June and July is unavailable for soccer camp.  Therefore, Soccer Ole’ will adjust based on the following:

  • All June camps at Lausanne will be moved to Trinity Baptist Church in East Memphis/Cordova area (10 min from Lausanne).
  • Due to Phase 2 guidelines from Shelby County, contact sports must follow specific guidelines such as (small groups, social distance, no contact, etc…)  Soccer Ole’ will have strict and safe guidelines for this camp. Please click here to see camp RTP guidelines.
  • Phase 2 will be re-evaluated at the end of May/ early June and there will be another update communicated between June 1- 5. Based on that evaluation, guidelines may be adjusted or kept the same.
  • Little Huggables (8:30-9:45 am) and half day camps (8:30-11:30 am) will be provided on at Trinity Baptist Church.
  • No full day camp available in June since we will not have access to the gym or an indoor facility in the afternoon. In addition, it would be very difficult to adjust to the social distance during a 7+ hour camp while trying to provide a quality and safe camp conditions.
  • All July camps are confirmed at CBU, Trinity Baptist Church, St. Michael’ and St. Ann’s Bartlett as of 5/21.

Based on the info above parents have the following options:

  1. Request a full refund for camps in June.
  2. Remain at the Little Huggables (8:30-9:45 am) or Half Day (8:30-11:30 am) camps at Trinity.
  3. Transfer to another camp week available in July (CBU, Trinity, St. Michael’s or St. Ann’s Bartlett).

Note: If you signed up for a full day (8:30 am - 4:30 pm) camp in June, you have the following options:

  1. Request a full refund.
  2. Attend a half day camp in June/July and have a partial refund processed.
  3. Attend multiple half day camps in June/July. (Example: if you paid $260 for one week of full day camp, you may use that credit for 2 half-day camp weeks ($130 each week).

*****Based on your options above, please email your decision to coachlima@soccerole.org with your child’s name and DOB by Monday 5/25.

Additional Info:

  • Please let your friends and family know so they can guarantee their spot before we close registrations due to restrictions on the number of participants.
  • All large gatherings will be re-configured to be in small group settings such as carpool logistics, and group activity time. More info via your camp week confirmation email.
  • In the event that health and safety precautions need to be changed or adjusted, Soccer Ole’ will adhere to the proper guidelines and make the necessary changes/cancellations.

As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

Thank you for working with us during this unprecedented time,

COVID-19 Update as of 5/1

Dear Soccer Ole’ Summer Camp Families,

We are making ongoing adjustments to our Soccer Ole’ Summer Camps due to the pandemic. Our staff and Lausanne Administration is continually reviewing data and recommendations from other schools, as well as publications from professional associations and government offices.

Currently, our plan is to continue in the following way:

  • Week 1 (May 25 – May 29) has been canceled. Families have an option to switch from week 1 to other weeks in June at Lausanne or July at other locations. Please see camp dates and locations below.  If you need to switch camp weeks, Please email coachlima@soccerole.org  with your child’s name and DOB. Also, let us know if he/she was signed up for multiple weeks.
  • If conditions allow, we will open camp beginning June 1st with certain restrictions and guidelines from our local government and TN Soccer Association which may include but not limited to:

1 coach per 8 players. No gathering of 10 people or more.

Respecting social distance: # of players in a restricted area.  No more than 50 players per field which limits the number of campers per week.

Temperature may be taken as players arrive.

Players will be instructed to wash hands or use gel sanitizer at the field before, during and after camp.

Coaches will be wearing masks the entire time.

Players may not wear masks due to a risk of asphyxiation.

Training vests must be washed daily and not shared among players.

Bathrooms will be cleaned/sprayed/disinfected before, during and after camp.

  • More info with details will be communicated after May 15th. Please let your friends and family know so can guarantee their spot before we close registrations due to restrictions.
  • All large gatherings will be re-configured to be in small group settings such as lunch in classrooms, carpool logistics, and group activity time.
  • Health screenings will be in place for all camp employees and campers.
  • In the event that health and safety precautions need to be changed or adjusted, Soccer Ole’ will adhere to the proper guidelines and make the necessary changes/cancellations.
  • Because of the time, it takes to secure personnel and prepare camps, we will use the following timeline to determine how to proceed with the programs:
    • May 15 we will decide whether to continue to plan on camps for weeks 2 and 3 (June 1-12)
    • If camps are canceled for weeks 2 and 3, we will re-evaluate and decide by June 1 if we need to cancel weeks 4 and 5 (June 15 – 26)
    • If camps are canceled for weeks 4 and 5, we will re-evaluate and decide by June 15 if we will open camps in July.
    • If June camps are cancelled, you will have the option to switch from a June camp at Lausanne to other July camp locations.  We are working with the possibility of hosting a July camp (s) at Lausanne.

As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns

Thank you for working with us during this unprecedented time.
